Research Funding Opportunity – Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women East Africa

Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, is pleased to announce the launch of the Growth and Economic Opportunities for Women (GrOW) East Africa initiative. GrOW East Africa seeks to spur transformative change to advance gender equality in the world of work.  It builds on the legacy of the recently concluded successful multi-funder GrOW program. GrOW East Africa is inviting proposals for evaluative or action research to provide evidence, practical tools, and guidance to guide large scale actions to build a better and more equal world for women. The goal is to enhance effective and evidence-informed policies, programs, and interventions on unpaid care work and the gender segregation of work to address persistent gender economic and social gaps in Eastern Africa.

This call will fund Southern organizations. Applications must be submitted by registered or incorporated organizations in the countries covered by the call (Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and/or Uganda). Research must be done in one or more of the countries of focus.
